Abstract

This study assesses the planning strategies of NTI in Kogi State in the bid to meeting their objectives. To achieve this, two research questions were posed with two null hypotheses formulated and tested at 0.05 level of significance. Descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study with a population of 100 respondents. The entire population was drawn as sample size for the study since it is manageable. Instrument for data collection was a structured questionnaire titled, Planning Strategy Questionnaire’ (PSQ). The instrument was face validated by three experts.  Mean and standard deviation were used to answer the research questions, while the t-test statistic was used to test the null hypotheses. The findings of the study among others showed that the NTI planning strategies for sustainable development was weak. It was recommended among others that NTI should identify the training needs of staff and train them to improve the service delivery of NTI to enable her achieve the overall objective of teacher education.
