Abstract

There have been lots of pedagogical and technological revolution with profound and far-reaching consequences for education, training, and society. This revolution has coalesced around emerging pedagogies such as blended learning, flipping, differentiation, inclusiveness and structured dialogue otherwise known as dialogic teaching/learning. Hinged on sociocultural theory, this paper explores the concept of dialogic teaching, its essence; application and challenges and how structured dialogue can build robust learning environments and improve learning outcomes in the English language classroom.
